The staff and students of Angus Morrison Elementary School will be participating in the 42nd Anniversary Terry Fox Run School Event on Thursday, October 13th. This will be a rain or shine activity so please make sure your children are dressed appropriately. Students are also encouraged to wear red and white or Canada clothing or may wish to purchase the 2022 Terry Fox t-shirt on School Cash Online by Friday, Oct. 7th. All proceeds from t-shirt sales go to our school's fundraising goal of $1,600.00! In our 21 years of the Terry Fox Run at Angus Morrison, we have raised an incredible $45,464.01! This year, we are reaching beyond our community and offering our fundraising amount to support the Million Dollar Man, Barrie resident Will Dwyer, who raised over $1.2 million in 41 years for Terry. Will passed away at 96 years of age and we are one of many Simcoe County schools trying to help make him the Two Million Dollar Man! We are also pumped to start our first shoe drive in honour of Terry's remarkable run.
This year family members will be able to join us again on our run as in our usual tradition of Terry Fox spirit! Please check in at the front office AND let your child's classroom teacher know you will be joining us. We will be starting the event at 11:45 am, led by our Gr. 7 classes and ending around 12:45 p.m. with an outdoor sharing of class Terry Fox signs and chants/songs. Kindergarten classes will be walking within our Primary fenced yard.
We are so proud to celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of Terry's Marathon of Hope and would be honoured if you, family members and friends would help support us:
- By donating at: https://schools.terryfox.ca/AngusMorrisonESAngus
- At School Cash Online https://www.schoolcashonline.com/
- Students can also bring in a "Toonie for Terry" to drop into their class coin can.
