Important Reminders To Our Parents Reminders To Our Parents<p><strong>Our student sign in/out book is located inside the office.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>If you need to sign out your child, please send a note to your child's teacher informing them of their</strong><strong> </strong><strong>dismissal time.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>When you arrive at the school, please come into the office to sign out your child.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>We will THEN call the student to the office.</strong> </p><p><strong>If your child is late, please come into the office to sign them in.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>The student will need a late slip to bring to their teacher.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>PLEASE DO NOT WALK YOUR CHILD TO THEIR CLASSROOM.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>If they are in kindergarten and do not know their way to class, we can call the classroom to have a buddy meet them.</strong></p><p><strong></strong><strong>Parents should avoid entering the yard which also means not walking your child to the portable, parents should always stay back from portable entrances (appointments with teachers can be made through the office but teachers are not available for impromptu conversations).</strong></p><p><strong></strong> <strong>Students must not be dropped off or arrive at school before 9:00 am – there is no supervision. <br></strong></p><p><strong></strong> <strong>If you are a volunteer in our school, please come into the office to sign in.</strong><strong>  </strong><strong>Visitor stickers are available near the sign in sheet. </strong></p><p><strong></strong><strong>As always, a BIG thank you for your understanding and cooperation</strong>.<br><strong> </strong></p><p> </p>
School Council News for March Month Council News for March Month<p>​Hello Dragon Families!<br></p><p>This past month we surpassed the 100th day of school. How exciting! We also really enjoyed Valentine's Day with the Dance-A-Thon, raising over $1000 for our school. Way to go!<br></p><p>March's Restaurant Night is on Tuesday, March 31st,  2020 at <strong>Osmow's Modern</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Mediterranean Restaurant</strong>. The owner has partnered up with AMES to help us  fundraise towards our new school team jerseys. 10% of your purchase throughout the entire day (11am-10pm) will be coming back to AMES. Osmow's specializes in fresh, healthy, tasty Mediterranean Dishes for the whole family, located next to No Frills.<br> </p><p>A <strong>special menu</strong> for our school is added for that day:<br> </p><p>$6 small chicken & rice<br> $9 wrap with fries & pop<br> $11 Chicken Shawarma Poutine<br> </p><p>Please mention that you are from Angus Morrison to have your receipt added to the fundraiser tally.<br> </p><p>Let's support our local small businesses! Kindergarten Registration Is open Registration Is open<p>​Do you (or someone you know) have a child who is turning four in 2020? If so, it's time to register them for Kindergarten in the SCDSB! Beginning Jan. 27, 2020, Simcoe County's public schools started to register children for Kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year.   Parents/guardians can begin the Kindergarten registration process on the SCDSB website by visiting <a href=""><span lang="en-US" style="text-decoration:underline;"></span></a> and select 'Community Apps'. Pay for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online<p>​The SchoolCash Online program is now available at all schools, offering parents the option to pay online for field trips, lunch days and other items. The program is intended to reduce paper, eliminate the need for students to travel with money, and for money to be counted and stored at schools.  Payment by credit card has now also been added.<br><br>Parents who sign up will receive a notification when a new item becomes available for purchase. Items are personalized to each student.  Parents will use a secure online account to process payments, and can either make a one-time payment for each item as it occurs, or load money to carry a balance in the online account to make payments in the future.<br><br>To create an online account, go to <a href="" target="_blank"></a>. Safe Arrival Procedures Arrival Procedures<p>Dear Parent/Guardian:</p><p>If your children are going to be late or absent from school please call our Safe Arrival line at 705-424-5701, press 1. <span><span>This line is available to take your message 24 hours a day. Please leave the name of the student, teacher’s name and reason for absence. <br></span></span></p><p>Our student sign in/out book is located inside the office.  If you need to sign out your child, please send a note to your child's teacher informing them of their dismissal time.  When you arrive at the school, please come into the office to sign out your child.  We will THEN call the student to the office.</p><p>If your child is late, please come into the office to sign them in.  The student will need a late slip to bring to their teacher.  <strong>PLEASE DO NOT</strong> walk your child to their classroom.  If they are in kindergarten and do not know their way to class, we can call the classroom to have a buddy meet them.</p><p><strong></strong><strong> SNOW DAYS: </strong>It is very helpful for us in the office to have parents, of children who walk to school, call safe arrival on a Snow Day if their children are not attending school or will be late.<br></p>
‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely<p>​</p><p>The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) launched the Bus Tag<strong> </strong>program this September.<strong> </strong>The Bus Tag program supports safety for JK/SK and other school-identified students by<strong> </strong>providing a process to match students to their assigned afternoon school bus and to also<strong> </strong>identify they must be met by a parent or guardian at their afternoon bus stop.</p><p>The program provides:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>a colour coded bus tag with the assigned p.m. route number to be attached to the student's backpack</li><li>a colour-coded route card with route number in the windows of the school bus that the Bus Tag is matched to</li></ul><p>The SCSTC and Bus Operators have policies and procedures that are used on all school vehicles to ensure students in JK/SK and other school identified students are met at their afternoon bus stop.  It's the parent/guardian's responsibility to meet Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and other identified students at the bus stop .The Bus Tag program has been established to assist both the schools and school bus drivers to load these students on the correct afternoon bus and identify they are to be met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian.
